Northwestern Medicine Now Offering Ophthalmology Services in Western Suburbs

Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group has added Ophthalmology to its specialized health care services available in Chicago’s west suburbs. Comprehensive care for a full spectrum of eye diseases is now available at Northwestern Medicine Naperville, Suite 300, located at 636 Raymond Drive.

The first two physicians to join the new practice are board-certified ophthalmologists Michael Andreoli, MD, and Michelle Andreoli, MD. Dr. Michael Andreoli specializes in retinal surgery including ocular tumors, retinal detachment surgery, vitrectomy surgery and macular degeneration. Dr. Michelle Andreoli provides general medical eye care. Her areas of practice include cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration screening, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, and ocular hypertension.

“Northwestern Medicine is thrilled the Andreolis are launching our new clinic in the western suburbs. Both are accomplished physicians who share a steadfast commitment to ocular health and vision preservation,” said Nicholas J. Volpe, MD, chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Northwestern Medicine. “We are proud Northwestern Medicine is expanding our locations to offer world-class eye care closer to where patients live and work.”

Dr. Michael Andreoli and Dr. Michelle Andreoli are from a family of eye doctors. Their parents are also practicing optometrists, as is another brother who is an ophthalmologist. The brother and sister duo, who were both born at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, are excited to return to the hospital as their medical home.

Dr. Michael Andreoli graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine, completed an internship at Steward Carney Hospital, and finished his residency and fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.

Dr. Michelle Andreoli attended Boston University School of Medicine, completed an internship at Cambridge Health Alliance and her residency at Loyola University Medical Center.
