Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and Valley West Hospital Auxiliaries Offer Scholarships

The Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and Valley West Hospital Auxiliaries are offering scholarships for local residents pursuing healthcare studies, including nursing, radiology, pre-med, medical, and ancillary health services professions.

Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
To be eligible for the Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital Auxiliary scholarship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (1) legal address in DeKalb County, (2) immediate family member employed by Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, or (3) be a volunteer in good standing through the Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital volunteer program with at least 20 hours of service. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need, academic merit, and career goal.

Pick up an application and instructions at the Volunteer Services office at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, by calling Deborah Nier at 815.756.1521, ext. 153372, or emailing Deborah.Nier@nm.org. Applications must be received in the Volunteer Services office by 4:30 pm, on May 4, 2018, or postmarked no later than that same date. Applicants will be notified of award by May 21, 2018.

Northwestern Medicine Valley West Auxiliary Scholarship
The Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital Auxiliary is offering scholarships to applicants who live in a community served by Valley West Hospital. This includes Earlville, Sandwich, Plano, Somonauk, Leland, Yorkville, Bristol, Sheridan, Serena, Newark, Millington, Millbrook, Big Rock, Hinckley and Waterman. The student must be a high school graduate and show proof of acceptance into a post-secondary health-related program.

Application and instructions are available at the Valley West Hospital Gift Shop, by calling Deanna Francis at 815.786.8484 extension 253775, or emailing Deanna.Francis@nm.org. Applications must be received in the Volunteer Services office by June 1, 2018 or postmarked no later than that same date. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need, academic merit, and career goal. Last year, the Valley West Hospital Auxiliary awarded $12,000 in healthcare career scholarships to deserving students in the area.
