New Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital Community Kitchen Offers Nutrition and Cooking Classes
Hungry for health? Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is excited to announce the opening of the new Delnor Community Kitchen, a place for people of all ages to learn about nutrition in a fun and engaging environment. The new kitchen, located near the main entrance of Delnor Hospital, offers complimentary classes and cooking demonstrations.
āWe are thrilled to provide the community a new resource for learning how to eat healthy,ā said Karin Podolski, director of Community Health Services, Northwestern Medicine. āOur goal is to encourage community members to eat more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, healthy fats and protein by showing adults and kids how easy it can be to prepare healthy meals.ā
The new kitchen features a main island with appliances and a food prep area, seating around the main island for viewing, two additional workstations with appliances, and audio/visual capability to broadcast demonstrations to nearby conference rooms. It will be used for community wellness programs, as well as patient education sessions coordinated by the new Northwestern Medicine Metabolic Health and Surgical Weight Loss Center.
