Glenview Outpatient Center Celebrates Expanded Patient Services

GLENVIEW, Ill. — The Northwestern Medicine Glenview Outpatient Center has opened a new floor of patient care space following the completion of a multiyear project to enhance programs and modernize its clinical facilities. The expanded space increases access to specialty care and reaffirms Northwestern Medicine’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the North Shore. Northwestern Medicine leadership and staff celebrated the expansion with a ribbon‑cutting ceremony on March 2.

Ulstrup, MD, medical director of the Northwestern Medicine Glenview Outpatient Center. “Our expanded footprint and the new program offerings allow us to serve more patients, while maintaining the compassionate experience they expect from Northwestern Medicine. Growth in cardiovascular services

The Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute (BCVI) expanded its existing footprint at the Glenview Outpatient Center adding significantly more space for cardiology, vascular surgery, vein care and diagnostic cardiology services. Renovations doubled the number of exam rooms and cardiac testing spaces, allowing the team to treat more patients and provide a broad range of heart and vascular services in one convenient location.

The BCVI at the Glenview Outpatient Center also added workrooms and collaboration spaces for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and staff. The added space strengthens the team’s ability to deliver coordinated, multidisciplinary care.

New rheumatology infusion offerings

For the first time, non-oncology infusion services are available at the Glenview Outpatient Center allowing patients to see their rheumatologist and receive infusions all in one location. These services support treatment for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, lupus and more.

Wound care expertise

Our new Northwestern Medicine Wound Care Center will provide advanced treatments for patients with slow-healing or complex wounds. Offerings include biomedically engineered skin grafts, growth factor therapy and other specialty therapies that promote healing, help prevent complications and support patients in regaining comfort and mobility.

Community care

The expansion and upgrades to the Northwestern Medicine Glenview Outpatient Center began approximately five years ago with the goal of delivering a modern, patient-centered environment designed to support world-class patient care and to meet the needs of a growing community.

"This project reflects our long-term investment in providing world-class care right here in Glenview,” said Andrea Saenim, vice president of operations at Northwestern Medicine. “By bringing more services under one roof and expanding our clinical capacity, we are ensuring that our patients can access the care they need, even if they require more complex care, closer to home. Northwestern Medicine Glenview Outpatient Center originally opened in 2013 providing area residents access to comprehensive, individualized care in one convenient setting. In addition to the newly expanded services, the center also offers primary care and pediatrics, a cancer center with infusion services, lab services, diagnostic imaging, an Immediate Care Center and specialty care, including dermatology, gastroenterology, neurosciences, ophthalmology, endocrinology, pulmonary, oncology, urology and more.
