Centegra opens second cardiac catheterization lab at Huntley hospital

HUNTLEY, Ill. – Centegra Health System has opened a second cardiac catheterization laboratory at Centegra Hospital-Huntley.
“Cardiac catheterization is used to diagnose and treat a number of heart conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and heart muscle disease,” said Dr. Asim Zaidi, medical director of the Catheterization Lab at Centegra Hospital-Huntley and cardiologist with Centegra Physician Care. “Cardiac catheterizations are minimally invasive procedures that use medical imaging to help physicians identify and clear blockages in the heart with balloons or coronary stents.”
The Illinois Department of Public Health approved the second catheterization lab on June 4 after a rigorous inspection.
“The new cath lab will allow us to expand services in Huntley,” said Dr. Kumar Nathan, president of Centegra Hospital-Huntley and Centegra Clinical Effectiveness. “We are proud to offer a full range of cardiac care services to our community including diagnostics, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, peripheral procedures and emergency care.”
Between Centegra Hospital-McHenry and Centegra Hospital-Huntley, Centegra now has five cardiac catheterization labs.
