Black Maternal Health Week Open House
Northwestern Medicine is hosting an educational session and open house on Wednesday, April 17, from 5-7:30 pm at Prentice Women’s Hospital
CHICAGO – April 10, 2024 – Black Maternal Health Week is recognized from April 11-17, a time to raise awareness that Black women in the United States are dying from pregnancy-related causes at a higher rate. Northwestern Medicine's Obstetrics and Gynecology Department is hosting an educational session and open house on Wednesday, April 17, at Prentice Women's Hospital to raise awareness for Black maternal health.

- Labor and Delivery Floor and Postpartum Floor tours
- Physicians and midwives discussing common pregnancy myths
- A meet-and-greet with Obstetrics and Gynecology clinicians

Donations for Community Baby Shower
Parenthood can be overwhelming for anyone. As the cost of basic needs continues to rise, families across Chicago are struggling to provide vital basics. During Black Maternal Health Week, the Northwestern Medicine OB-GYN Department is also sponsoring EverThrive Illinois' 2nd Annual Community Baby Shower.
This donation drive is collecting new baby wipes and thermometers. It also accepts monetary donations which will be used to buy gift cards and supplies.

Donations can be dropped off April 11-17 from 8 am-4 pm (Monday-Friday) to these Northwestern Medicine locations:
